Star winger Albert Adomah was restored to the starting line-up to help Bristol City's fight against relegation in today's npower Championship basement battle against Portsmouth at Fratton Park.
Held in reserve on the bench while recovering from a knee injury in the last two games, the Ghana international replaced Martyn Woolford in an otherwise unchanged team as manager Derek McInnes trusted in his most experienced players.
Woolford was dropped to the bench, while left-back Ryan McGivern was added to the squad to provide defensive cover in the injury-enforced absence of Lewin Nyatanga and James Wilson.
Pompey (4-4-2): Ashdown; Halford, Rocha, Pearce, Ben Haim; Thorne, Norris, Allan, Ward; Varney, Maguire. Subs: Futacs, Etuhu, Harris, Benjani, Webster.
City (4-4-2): James; Carey, Fontaine, McManus, McAllister; Adomah, Cisse, Pearson, Foster; Pitman, Stead. Subs: Kilkenny, Woolford, McGivern, Wood, Gerken (gk).
Referee: Andy D'Urso (Essex)
